Exeter Elementary PTO

Welcome! We are proud to serve the MSS and LSS Elementary Schools in Exeter, NH.

Board Members and volunteers are always wanted - we'd love your help on a weekly, monthly, annual, or for any of our many events. Ideas are always helpful, but people to help bring those ideas to action are what is most needed. Please contact us if you can help!

Can't share your time, but want to help? We love donations! See where your dollars go.

BOX TOPS ARE GOING DIGITAL!

Box tops have been a wonderful way for families to raise money for our schools. Since we started with the program, we have raised almost $45,000! That is A LOT of box tops!!

Box tops is making the process even easier. Now, with the help of a mobile app, all you need to do is scan your receipt within 14 days of purchase and your earnings will be automatically updated online.

The traditional box tops are being phased out of production, but this will take time. We will still collect all your clipped box tops in the collection boxes at the schools as we have in the past.

Thank you for your help! Please contact Laura Wyskiel with any questions @ lwyskiel@comcast.net or 603.300.6556

Download the new app today!

A Note from the PTO – Box Top Change

Please check your Box Top App. We have made some changes and combined the two accounts.

    • Please be sure that you are using the Exeter Elementary Account.

Also, when you scan your receipt, click the CREDIT button and write in your child’s grade and teacher.

    • (ex: 5Jenkins, KMyers)
    • This will help us keep track of scanned box tops for the end of the year winner.

Remember to keep clipping the box tops that can be clipped and send them into the schools.

Thank you! Please reach out with any questions.

Letter of Support and Care

June 2, 2020

Dear MSS and LSS Families,

We write this letter in support of our families of color and in recognition that recent national events involving acts of racism are painful to us all. This spring we worked with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee to create a mission and vision statement that was reflective of the purpose and goals of the committee. The opening of that statements reads, “ Exeter School District is dedicated to creating and sustaining an inclusive school community where all families are welcomed and valued.” In order to be a place where families feel welcome and valued, we cannot remain silent when these events have such significant impact on our community.

We have a shared responsibility to work toward a better tomorrow, where we foster positive social identity, a focus on empathy, and social justice. We encourage our families to take the time to have thoughtful conversations about race and identity. Conversation with kids about race, gender, sexuality, religion, and class are too often shushed or stopped all together. Engaging in these conversations is essential in ending discrimination. In this quick three minute episode of NPR and Sesame Workshop’s podcast for parents, experts discuss the importance of talking to kids about social identity. We hope you find this podcast and article helpful. We want all of our children to build a positive sense of identity and a healthy respect for other people’s identity.

Sincerely, Steve Adler and Drew Bairstow.

CMS Building Renewal Project!

Due to changes in programming and staffing since opening in 1998, CMS has become overcrowded. Student programming is impacted by physical space limitations. The overarching goal of the project is to align changes in programming with the CMS building in a fiscally responsible manner while increasing student safety, and strengthening our students’ educational experiences.

Key aspects of the proposed solutions:

• Increasing the number of team areas

• Expanding & reconfiguring the cafeteria

• Adding space for music programming

• Multi-purpose physical education room

• Additional office space

• Additional gymnasium
