Frequently Asked Questions

When will the Main Street Co-Op open?

It opened November 2, 2021. It is always open. Contact Carrie Costello (ccostello@sau16.org) or Katelyn Anglea (kanglea@sau16.org) at Main Street School to schedule an appointment. They can also be reached by calling Main Street School at 603.775.8900.

When will you be accepting donations?

The co-op will accept donations all year long. Our goal is to continuously accept donations to build our inventory to be stocked all year!

Where do I drop off donations?

Please drop off donations at the main entrance vestibule at Main Street School located at 40 Main Street, Exeter, NH 03833 during school hours. The co-op has a donation box there, which will be emptied daily. Please do not leave donations outside the main entrance.

What types of toiletries, laundry supplies, and cleaning supplies are needed?

The co-op does not have specific brands or sizes on household or cleaning items. We will accept laundry detergent, dryer sheets, fabric softener, dish soap, sponges, household cleaners, trash bags, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, toilet paper, paper towel, diapers, or any other household staple. For ease, the co-op has an Amazon wish list of items we are looking for to stock the co-op, but will accept donations from any where in any size or brand.

For gently used clothing, what sizes are needed?

All sizes from infant to adult. Our primary focus for clothing is kids clothing of any size - infant to teen. However, we definitely have families who are starting over and interviewing for jobs so we want to offer gently used clothes for parents in need as well.

What happens to donations to the Main Street Co-Op?

All items donated will be provided to families in need at all of our Exeter Elementary Schools - the Preschool, Main Street School, and Lincoln Street School. Items will be given to these families free of charge.

Who is the Main Street Co-Op assisting?

We are assisting families at all of our Exeter Elementary Schools - the Preschool, Main Street School, and Lincoln Street School. Even though it is called the Main Street Co-Op, if families have students in other buildings (CMS/EHS) we would assist with those children as well.
